LG is preparing to introduce a truly groundbreaking technology: a flat screen that transforms into a button when touched.
The Korean company will debut the innovation at SID Display Week 2025, a display convention taking place from May 13 in San Jose, California (USA).
The technology features a flat screen that turns into a physical, interactive button when touched. The company describes it as an “extendable automotive display that can turn any interior surface into a display.”
According to LG, this innovation is possible thanks to a stretchable screen section located at the center of the panel. This part of the display can expand by up to 50%.
“When touched, the previously flat screen flexibly expands and projects touch buttons, making operation easier even while driving,” said LG Display, LG’s display division.
The company has not released further details, but a more complete presentation of the innovation is expected during SID Display Week 2025 next Tuesday (13).
